The results of the 2023 valuation of the Local Government Pension Schemes (LGPS) are now coming through. Many employers are seeing significant improvements in funding levels, and material reductions in contributions rates.

Meanwhile, employers in the Scottish Housing Associations’ Pension Scheme (SHAPS) found that deficit contributions stopped earlier than expected in September 2022, and will be keeping a keen eye out for preliminary results next year.

The webinar takes place on Thursday 25 January 2024 at 11am and will cover these areas:

• LGPS – Looking at the valuation results, we will discuss the options available to employers, particularly those who have previously closed to new entrants and now have a two-tier workforce
• SHAPS valuation – Employers open to future pension build-up are expected to see a (potentially significant) reduction in costs in the valuation early this year
• Year-end accounting – What might employers expect to see in their year-end disclosures at 31 March 2024?
